Gilmer, Texas: East Texans for Liberty’s 4th Annual Stars of Texas Fall Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the Gilmer Civic Center located at 1218 U.S. Highway 271 North in Gilmer at 6:00 pm.
“Confirmed keynote speakers are the Honorable Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Honorable Freedom Caucus Chairman and House Representative Matt Schaefer (Tyler, District 6),” said ET4L President and Executive Director Stacy McMahan.
Ken Paxton is Texas’ 51st Attorney General. General Paxton has had multiple accomplishments with the most notable being his fight against Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), enacted by Executive Order under Former Democratic President Barack Obama, creating the Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit, and saving Texas’ voter ID and anti-sanctuary cities laws in Federal Court.
Representative and Texas Freedom Caucus Chairman Matt Schaefer, a Navy serviceman, assumed office in 2013 and has been a leader in promoting the conservative grassroots voice, a voice largely ignored by the establishment, in East Texas. Schaefer’s most notable accomplishments, all signed into law, are legislation that allows electronic voting for military members in combat zones, co-sponsoring legislation that preserved the Teacher’s Retirement System (TRS) by restoring it to financial solvency, and co-authoring the ban on late-term abortions after 20 weeks and requiring stronger health and safety standards for abortion clinics.
“The Freedom Caucus stands strong against toll roads, and they’re credited with helping the grassroots get 6-out-of-7 anti-toll reforms into law last year” said Terri Hall, is the founder of Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom (TURF) and a contributor to SFPPR News & Analysis of the conservative-online-journalism center at the Washington-based Selous Foundation for Public Policy Research.
Also joining the Gala are David Barton, founder of Wallbuilders, KrisAnne Hall, Constitutional Educator, the Republican Party of Texas Vice-Chair Alma Perez Jackson, along with a surprise guest U.S. Congressman Louie Gohmert, Rafael Cruz, father of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, and Railroad Commissioner Wayne Christian.
ET4L is sponsoring KrisAnne Hall for two constitutional seminars on Friday, October 26. Hall will be meeting with area homeschoolers at the Longview Public Library and students at the Christian Heritage Classical School.
"It is exciting to have KrisAnne meeting with area youth," said organizer and ET4L Hospitality Chair Darlene Rappazzo.
Last May, ET4L sponsored KrisAnne Hall’s Peace Officer's Training with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department.
A General Admission ticket is $25. General Ticket holders should arrive no later than 6:00 PM.
