J. Ashton Oravetz, Texas Border Volunteers, on "An Invasion at the Border"  - East Texans for Liberty's September meeting. 

Mr. Oravetz attended Citadel Military College, South Carolina  and the University of Wisconsin, receiving a BBA in Engineering Management and an MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin.  He then attended the University of Strasbourg, France before doing postgraduate doctoral studies in finance at the University of Wisconsin.

Mr. Oravetz's work experience includes: corporate finance, mainly mergers and acquisitions, with Bache & Company in New York City and Denver; management consulting, projects including, turnarounds, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and money management; ranching; Executive Vice-President of an oil company and President of his own oil company; and serving or served on the corporate boards of directors of several companies during his career.    He was a professor at Tyler Junior College for 17 years before retiring.  He taught managerial accounting and economics and was Chair of the Business Administration Program.

He has been a member of Texas Border Volunteers for almost four years and attended all the watches during that period.
