Upshur County Clean-Up Day is set for Saturday, October 7th.  The location is on Cottonwood just off of Farm to Market 1404.  The hours are 8:00 a.m to 3:30 pm per UC Commissioner Paula Gentry. 


The Texas House Republican Caucus is meeting on this Thursday and Friday regarding a Texas House Speaker procedure. Thursday is a recreational day. Friday is the big day!

The Republican Party of Texas 3rd Quarterly SREC meeting is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Wyndham Garden Austin.  A Director of the ET4L Executive Board will be attending this important SREC meeting.  We will keep you updated! 


'No confidence' resolutions in Texas House Speaker Joe Straus: 

Texas is up to 51 counties that have passed a 'no confidence' resolution in Texas House Speaker Joe Straus. 

All of House District 7 passed a 'no confidence' resolution.  Senate District 1:  12 out of 16 counties have passed a similar resolution to date.  All tea party/conservative groups in Senate District 1 have passed a similar resolution.

The Senate District Volunteer of the Year Banquet is scheduled for Friday at 6:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza in Austin.  The Senate District 1 Volunteer of the Year is ET4L's, Stacy McMahan. 


Saturday, October 7:  Be sure to get your tickets early for the Stars of Texas Fall Celebration with keynote speakers U.S. Congressman Louie Gohmert and Lt. Col. Allen West. Other speakers joining us are the Republican Party of Texas Chairman James R. Dickey, Michael Quinn Sullivan with Empower Texans, and Upshur County Judge Dean Fowler.  Also with us will be Representative Cole Hefner, Senator Bryan Hughes, and Gregg County Justice of the Peace Tim Bryan.

 THREAT TO THE CENOTAPH - Save the Alamo




There has been an anonymous tip about a San Antonio City Council member "talking about the removal of the Alamo Cenotaph due to racial tension." It appears that since they were successful at Travis Park the Alamo is now target zero. We will keep you apprised of any imminent developments.


Republican House Speaker pushes for removing Confederate plaque from Texas Capitol


BEXAR GOP LOOKS TO OFFICIALLY CENSURE STRAUS UNDER RULE 44  If successful, the resolution will be passed on to the State Republican Party Executive Committee for a statewide censure of the Speaker.


Straus tells business leaders to keep up fight after "bathroom bill" failure  Speaker Straus continues to go against YOU, the Republican voter.  Last primary, 80% of Republican voters, statewide, voted in favor of doing something to protect our women and children in public restrooms, locker rooms, and showers. 

This issue is happening here at home, folks.  Longview ISD recently had a male walk into the females locker room. What did your Representative do to protect your daughters in public restrooms, locker rooms, and showers?
