    Texas Social Studies curriculum revision & Gun rights

    Speaker:  Our State Board of Education Member Keven Ellis on the very important Social Studies curriculum standards revision which started in June and will last through November. The effort to rewrite our Social Studies curriculum is a never-ending battle. 

    Speaker:  Upshur County Constable Gene Dolle on his testimony before the Criminal Jurisprudence Committee, on Monday, June 25th, regarding the Red Flag Program proposed in Governor Abbott's School Safety Plan. Read the Gov's Proposal here.

    A complimentary light dinner will begin at 6:30 pm, with the program beginning at 7:00.

    Speaker:  David Watts Jr
     

    David and Desiree Watts recently were invited to travel to South Korea with a delegation of Korean War Veterans and families of those Killed-in-action and Missing-in-Action during the Korean War.

    David will give a report on the trip and share pictures from the event. He'll speak about the veterans, the KIA/MIA families, the deep appreciation of the Korean people, and their visit to the ROK Marine Corps HQ, the US Army 8th HQ, the ROK Cheonan (torpedoed by North Korean submarine), and the Joint Security Area in the DMZ.

    David will also talk about the East Texas connection to the Korean War that they discovered while in Korea.
